Fire-resistant options utilize asbestos paper as a base material and incorporate flame retardants into the PVC layer, enhancing safety in high-risk areas.
One of the key advantages of PVC wallpaper is its water resistance, which makes it easy to clean. Simply wipe away dirt or stains with a damp sponge or cloth. Additionally, it is relatively easy to install, making it a popular choice among DIY enthusiasts.
There are also two main subtypes of PVC wallpaper:
1. PVC Coated Wallpaper – This type is made using pure paper, non-woven fabric, or woven materials as the base. A layer of PVC paste resin is applied to the surface, followed by printing and embossing processes. When foamed, this type can create a strong 3D effect, mimicking textures like wood grain, brocade, or tiles. It is highly resistant to grease and moisture, making it ideal for use in kitchens and bathrooms, and suitable for most home environments.
2. PVC Rubber Surface Wallpaper – This version features a thin layer of PVC film applied over a paper or fabric base. It offers excellent waterproofing, durability, and ease of cleaning, making it one of the most widely used types of wallpaper in both residential and commercial settings.
