On October 24, Shenzhen Hexin Art Co., Ltd.’s Big Copper Times Brand Department signed a contract with the city government planning unit for the 27th Antarctic Science Research "Snow Dragon" Shenzhen Qihang Project. This marked the beginning of an extraordinary collaboration between art and science.
From October 24 to 27, the team completed the initial clay sculpture of the pioneering ox, a symbol of hard work and perseverance. The process involved careful craftsmanship, ensuring every detail reflected the spirit of innovation and dedication.
From October 27 to November 7, the sculpture went through a meticulous transformation: mold-making, wax casting, ceramic shell creation, bronze casting, grinding, coloring, waxing, and final assembly. Every step was carried out with precision, as the team worked tirelessly to meet the tight deadline.
On the afternoon of November 8, the "Snow Dragon" arrived at Yantian Port in Shenzhen. At the same time, the 1.5-meter-wide, 0.6-meter-long, and 1-meter-high pioneering ox sculpture—crafted over nearly 200 hours of pure handwork—was officially handed over to the project team. This remarkable achievement set a new record for the fastest production cycle in the history of the Big Copper Age brand’s custom bronze sculpture business.
On November 9, the Big Copper Age presented the sculpture to the municipal government, which then delivered it to the "Snow Dragon" scientific research team. The pioneering ox sculpture, representing the goodwill of the people of Shenzhen and embodying the city’s innovative spirit, was presented at the Venice Hotel in Shenzhen.
On November 10, the municipal government held a grand gift and farewell ceremony at the Venice Hotel. Shenzhen Mayor Wang Rong and other officials attended, cutting the ribbon to mark the occasion. The Big Copper Age brand was honored to be invited as a producer to this significant event.
On November 11, the "Snow Dragon" left Shenzhen and set sail toward the South Pole. We are eagerly awaiting its journey. We sincerely hope that the crew of the "Snow Dragon" will make groundbreaking achievements in Antarctica and contribute significantly to China’s scientific research endeavors.
