Can a manned multi-axis aircraft dare to sit up?

At the Consumer Electronics Show last year, we saw a light-weight, four-axis UAV that cost $300. Because of its small size, it can also be used as a toy. However, the multi-axis aircraft manufactured by the German aircraft manufacturer e-volo is not a simple toy. This aircraft using electric energy can carry people.

Previously, e-volo had completed the unmanned flight test of the multi-axis aircraft. On October 21 this year, it completed the first manned test flight of a multi-axis aircraft in the southwest of Germany for one minute and thirty seconds. The center of the multi-axis aircraft is the driver's seat. The total body is a total of 16 propellers. The driver can control the flight of the aircraft through the handheld wireless controller on the driver's seat.

According to e-volo, multi-axis aircraft are simpler to manufacture and mechanically than helicopters. In addition, the multi-axis helicopters are even safer. Even if four of the 16 paddles fail to operate, they can still float in the air, and the blades of multi-axis helicopters are less subject to wear.

The multi-axis aircraft also has a built-in microcomputer. The driver can run customized software to control the rotation speed of the blade. The aircraft's panel will display the real-time altitude of the aircraft and the direction of flight. The flight time of the multi-axis aircraft is between 10 minutes and 30 minutes depending on the load and battery capacity.

Currently, the e-volo team is now working hard to develop a commercial version of the multi-axis aircraft. They hope that within a few years they will be able to launch affordable, gas-powered hybrid electric vehicles so that the flight time can be increased to at least one hour. The next aircraft of the e-volo team will use a new technology that is completely different from the standard technology because they think the former is outdated. (text / shell network)
